Lake Constance Region

This gallery brings together several locations on Lake Constance. In comparison, Überlingen, Lindau, Meersburg, Konstanz, and St. Gallen, in particular, still have extensive historic city centers. Friedrichshafen stands in stark contrast: there, the architecture of the postwar reconstruction and postwar modernism is an essential part of today’s cityscape. The island of Mainau, on the other hand, has no historic city center, but rather a scenic ensemble consisting of a lovingly landscaped park, a Baroque castle, and a castle church.
