Bad Salzdetfurth

Bad Salzdetfurth has historically been closely linked to salt production, which shaped the local economy and townscape for centuries. Numerous half-timbered houses have been preserved in the old town center, most of which date from the early modern period and the 18th and 19th centuries. The former salt works and graduation towers serve as reminders of the town’s development into a salt-producing center and, later, a spa town.
