To mark the 250th anniversary of the death of British princess Caroline Mathilde (1751–1775), who lived and died in Celle, conceptual artist Ottmar Hörl created an installation of more than 800 golden sculptures. From 14 August to 14 September 2025, the Schlossplatz is transformed into a shimmering “sea of figures.” Sources: ottmar-hoerl.de, celle.de
